| Donnie McClurkin & CeCe Winans at 2007 Trumpet Awards |
Donnie McClurkin, CeCe Winans, Michael Jordan, Percy Sutton, and Dionne Warwick are but a few American legends who make up the list of those to be honored at the 15th Annual Trumpet Awards. The black tie ceremony, sponsored by the Trumpet Awards Foundation, will be held at the AAA Five Diamond Award-Winning Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, NV on Monday, January 22nd, at 6 p.m. The Trumpet Awards is one of the nation’s most respected award shows. Saluting the achievements of African-Americans, and those who have shown consistent support toward the enhancement of African-American achievement, the Trumpet Awards pay homage to honorees in many diverse fields including law, politics, medicine, business, sports and entertainment. The following is a complete list of the 2007 Trumpet Awards Honorees and the awards they will be receiving:

| 22nd Annual Stellar Awards |
The 22nd annual stellar awards will be hosted by Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin and Tye Tribbett. Performers are to include Patti Labelle, Youthful praise, Myron Butler & Levi, Vickie Winans, Kierra"kiki" Sheard, and many more. special awards are to be given to the Clark sisters and the Mighty clouds Of Joy. It is going to be held in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry House.

| Gospel music grows internationally |
I was browsing various Gospel sites and I came across this on Gospelflava.
"Gospel music is experiencing great growth internationally. Evidence comes from the Dec 1, 2006 concert in Lagos, Nigeria, in which 85,000 people turned out to hear Kirk Franklin, Israel& New Breed, Donnie McClurkin, Lionel Peterson, Mighty Samba and others."
Yeah, I'm from Lagos, Nigeria and that concert was the coolest. Guess what? I didn't get to go which is very sad because Donnie happens to
be my all-time favorite singer but lots of my friends went and from what I heard, they had a wonderful time. Sign me up for the next
gospel concert that's gonna be held in Lagos. I was really happy because a lot of young people from my school went and it is a great
opportunity to minister the gospel to young people in song. Most young people like music and so they are easier to reach that way. Donnie, Kirk and all you gospel artists, keep doing your thing.Labels: events |
